Our Herdsires Offer Fine Lines of Distinction

North Plains Alpacas is serious about genetics and fleece quality. It is our job in this industry to make sure that each cria at NPA is an improvement from generation to generation.

How do we do that? It is in the breeding. We take pride in our herdsires at North Plains Alpacas. And we offer a selection of herdsires to fit your herd's needs from white to black.

DDF Peruvian Rico Suave, our white Elite son, provides fineness and allows color through. At 8 years of age he still holds his fineness at 17.1 microns and Norm Evans says about Rico's skin biopsy: "I have found no fibers above 30 microns which is unheard of" and "This male is the whole package based on my stats. He appears to have every desirable genetic trait that this industry is looking for. As the whole package, Rico Suave tests in the top 1% of near 1800 huacayas that I have tested."

Need density? MSA Santino's Aiden, has really proven himself as an impact herdsire with his progeny, many who have won blue ribbons and championship!

Need black or gray? MSA Pinot Noir and Mountain West Frisco are here to provide you with fantastic genetics and fineness, which is hard to find in black.
